I carry a PLD (personal locator device) for safety. It pings satellites and tracks my path, this link should allow you to see where I am as I travel each day.

If things go awry I can hit a button to request assistance of my family, another button to let my family know I am okay, or lastly a button to actually call for emergency assistance. The device is the “SPOT” GPS Satellite tracker, I am using the Gen 4, I have been using one for years. It is a one way communication device, you can get others that allow you two way communication, but I have always felt if I am going to disconnect on my trip I am going to disconnect. But I like the safety options it offers and my family likes it because they can check on me regularly.

I hope you find it fun to see my path and other info as I travel. You will not see anything right now but once I start on Jan 29th it will populate.
