Reaquaintance

Back at Manatee Hammock campground I met 2 musicians John and Mary.  They play mainly Celtic music.  Well today I heard someone playing Oh Shenandoah and went over.  You guessed it, John and Mary.  So we caught up a bit and laughed about how small this world can really be.  I gave them the name of Rare Olde Times in Richmond and I hope they come out there sometime.

  1. Hi Doug,

I read your update from earlier today, and you sounded a little down and frustrated by conditions and progress. Sounds like meeting up with your new-found musical friends gave you a lift, and I was glad to hear that. Things will break your way; bad weather can’t last forever. Hang in there.

Wishing you fair winds from now on,

    Dick

  2. Hey Doug, Glad to hear you caught some fair wind and current, really great progress for that spot, tides and currents are sometimes tricky and around the inlets especially. When you mentioned Tomoka I’m happy you got to camp there, we have camped and kayaked there as well, I believe the area was heavily inhabited by Indians of early Florida, weather has calmed here some so I hope you’re enjoying more progress! Safe travels, Richard and Diane

    • Thanks.
Tomoka was a prayer answered, they were booked solid but had a 2 day cancellation that morning. It is a very nice campground. Today was a bit windy so with no reservation at Tomoka I had to move on. Got a reservation @ Gramby Rogers for the night. Winds will deminish through the remainder of the week so will make better progress starting tomorrow.
God Bless and thanks for following.
      Doug
